Decreased coagulability refers to a state where the blood has a reduced ability to clot, which would actually lower the risk of thrombus formation. This condition contradicts the principles of thrombosis, as effective clotting requires a certain level of coagulability to promote thrombus development.

An intact endothelium plays a protective role against thrombus formation, as it promotes smooth blood flow and produces substances that regulate coagulation. When the endothelium is healthy and intact, it helps prevent platelet activation and clot formation, thereby reducing the risk of thrombus development.

While a decrease in red blood cells can affect oxygen transport and overall blood viscosity, it does not directly contribute to thrombus formation. In fact, lower red blood cell counts may reduce the likelihood of clotting since fewer cells are available to aggregate and form a thrombus, which would actually be counterproductive to thrombus formation.
