Extreme project management (XPM) is a methodology that focuses on high-risk projects requiring rapid changes and adaptability. While it shares some principles with Agile, XPM is more intense in its approach to uncertainties and does not necessarily emphasize weekly delivery or feedback loops as foundational elements.

The Waterfall model is a linear and sequential approach to project management, where each phase must be completed before moving to the next. It lacks the flexibility needed for immediate feedback incorporation, making it unsuitable for projects requiring frequent adjustments based on customer input.

Traditional project management often follows the Waterfall model, focusing on extensive upfront planning and a structured approach. This method does not facilitate the rapid iterations and ongoing customer feedback that are central to Agile methodologies, making it less responsive to changing requirements.
