Although maintaining patient independence is a goal of hospice care, the provision of medications, supplies, and equipment is specifically focused on addressing the needs related to the terminal diagnosis. The aim is to enhance comfort and manage symptoms rather than solely promoting independence, which does not encompass the primary purpose of hospice services.
