Members of a team already have experience using Red Hat Enterprise Linux. For a small hobby project, the team wants to set up a Linux distribution which allows the team members to apply as much of their Red Hat Enterprise Linux knowledge as possible?

Ubuntu is a Debian-based distribution that utilizes different package management and system configurations compared to RHEL. While it is user-friendly and widely used, it does not provide the same level of familiarity for those accustomed to the RHEL ecosystem.

Raspbian is specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi hardware and is based on Debian. Its focus on lightweight performance and specific hardware compatibility means that it diverges significantly from RHEL practices, limiting the applicability of RHEL knowledge.

Debian is a foundational distribution that serves as the base for many others, including Ubuntu. However, it has a different package management system (APT vs. RPM) and system administration practices, which would not fully utilize the team's RHEL expertise.

While openSUSE is a robust Linux distribution, it employs a different package management system (Zypper) and has distinct configuration conventions. These differences can hinder the direct application of Red Hat knowledge, making it less ideal than CentOS.
