Licensees may advertise an Illinois property for sale only if

While a licensee may advertise a property they personally listed, this is not a requirement for all advertisements. Licensees can also advertise properties listed by other agents, provided they have the necessary permissions from the property owner. Thus, personal listing status does not universally permit advertising.

Having an ownership interest in a property does not inherently qualify a licensee to advertise it for sale. Even if a licensee owns a part of the property, they must still secure the owner's written consent to engage in advertising activities. Ownership alone cannot substitute for the required permission.

An open listing allows multiple agents to market the property, but it still requires that all involved parties have the owner's permission. Therefore, while an open listing permits advertising, it does not exempt a licensee from needing written consent from the owner prior to advertising the property.
