While drafting action plans is important, it should be based on a thorough understanding of the root causes identified in the audit report. Without addressing the underlying issues, the action plans may not effectively resolve the problems, leading to recurring findings.

Although board oversight is vital for compliance, assigning the review of action plans to the board may not be practical. Typically, such responsibilities fall to management or compliance teams who are better positioned to implement and monitor corrective actions based on the audit findings.

Reperforming tests may provide validation of the findings; however, it does not address the root causes of those issues. Merely confirming the audit results without developing a remedial strategy fails to implement meaningful improvements to the compliance program.
