Jessica Morgan, CMA (AAMA), is a medical assistant whose career has taken her from Ohio into one of the country's leading academic healthcare environments. After completing her medical assisting education and beginning her career in Ohio, Jessica moved into a clinical role with Johns Hopkins Medicine, where she works alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a patient centered environment.
With more than a decade of experience in medical assisting, Jessica has developed a broad understanding of both the clinical and interpersonal sides of the profession. Her work has included preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, assisting with clinical procedures, maintaining accurate medical records, supporting laboratory procedures, and helping patients navigate their healthcare experience.
Jessica says one of the most rewarding parts of her profession is the relationship medical assistants build with patients. Often serving as one of the first members of the clinical team a patient encounters, she believes that professionalism, communication, and attention to detail can make a meaningful difference in the quality of care.
Her experience in a demanding clinical environment has also shaped the way she approaches education. At Poker Exams, Jessica develops and reviews medical assistant practice questions and study resources with an emphasis on practical understanding. Rather than relying solely on memorization, she encourages learners to understand the clinical reasoning behind procedures, terminology, medications, patient care, and administrative responsibilities.
Her areas of focus include anatomy and physiology, clinical procedures, pharmacology, medical terminology, infection control, patient care, laboratory procedures, medical law and ethics, and healthcare administration.
